Anatomy and Physiology         

Students gain a detailed knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and all of the body systems (skeletal, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, etc).   The class starts at the cellular level and progresses through the tissue, organ and system levels.  The muscles and their origin/insertions and innervations are emphasized.  Palpation is used as well as slay manikins and other visual and sensory aids to enhance the learning experience.

 

 

 

Pathology                                                      40 Hour Course.

This course will provide the student with an understanding of pathology and contraindications for the health industry. The students will study the nature and causes of disease as related to structure and function of the body. They will receive instruction in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, pathophysiology and the contraindications involved in massage therapy.

 

 

 

 

Business Mastery                                         2 Day Course

This class is a comprehensive guide that balances business skills with a humanistic approach.  Vital topics covered include; marketing, client retention, professionalism, referrals, planning, business start-up, choosing advisors, designing promotional material, self-management and networking.  Students learn the practical side of the massage profession and are prepared to enter their careers.

Ethics & Communication                             1 Day Course

This class lays the foundation for setting and maintaining professional and personal boundaries, and how to reach ethical solutions to common challenges faced by massage therapists.

Postural & Biomechanical Analysis   

Students learn how to assess a client’s posture through plumb line analysis.  Postural faults are explained with regard to postural/muscular relationships.  Students learn release strategies for targeted faults.  Biomechanics provides depth to this class by giving students the tools to assess a client’s condition incorporating such concepts as flexibility, viscosity, elasticity, plasticity, stiffness, viscoclasticity, fatigue and endurance.

 

 

 

 

Aromatherapy                                              2 Day Course

This class is designed to allow the student to safely and effectively incorporate the use of essential oils into a bodywork practice or spa business.  Focus is on appropriate choice of oils and applications for non-clinical personal care and esthetic treatments.  Emphasis on safe, effective application in a short time frame without aromatic overlap into the next treatment.  The 10 most versatile essential oils are covered in depth.  Safe use, contraindications and client assessment training allow the student to put the information into immediate use in home or work settings.

Introduction to Reflexology                        1 Day Course

Students learn the ancient healing art of foot reflexology.  Anatomical positions of reflex points and how to read the foot are taught.  Students learn techniques for a complete reflexology treatment and how to integrate reflexology into a regular massage session

Orthopedic Massage                                    1 Day Course

This course will provide the students will learn to assess, document, and treat fascial disorders that lead to postural imbalances. Techniques covered will employ Myofascial Release Technique, Muscle Energy Technique, Positional Release Technique, Trigger Point Therapy and Structural Assimilation disciplines combined into integrative sessions.

Massage for the Hospital Patient & Medically Frail Client   

                                                                   1 Day Course

This course will provide the student with an understanding of how massage therapy benefits the hospital patients and medically frail clients. The course will cover special techniques, considerations and pathology specific to hospital patients and medically frail conditions.

Baby Massage                                             1 Day Course

The goal of this course is that the student learns how to massage infants, and enable the parent to increase the bond between parent and child. To enable the student to relieve colic, promote quality sleep and reduce stress following a traumatic birth.  Student’s will learn to recognize facial and body cues from the child and know when massage would be contraindicated.

 

 

 

 

Pregnancy Massage                                  2 Day Course

Provide the students with understanding of dynamics of massage therapy and pregnancy.  Learn stages of physiological stages of pregnancy and post-partum, contraindications as related to pregnancy and precautions to be taken.  Students will learn the bolstering and massage techniques to utilize while working with a pregnant client. How to position the clients and what is more comfortable for the client. Students learn what techniques to use and the pressure to work with.

Couples Massage                                       1 Day Course

In this course students will learn how to teach couples, to learn the fundamentals of massage, it’s benefits, techniques and how incorporating massage into a routine for the couple. Students will learn how it can help with their communication and relationship overall. Allowing it to become a therapy for the couple to create an unconditional loving experience.

 

 

 

Hydrotherapy                                              1 Day Course

This course will provide the student with an understanding of how water is used as an external therapeutic device. Topics covered will include history of hydrotherapy, therapeutic modalities using hydrotherapy, and their physiological effects. Upon successful completion of the course, a student should be able to demonstrate and explain the use of hot and cold packs, contrast methods, types of application and client assessment. The student will also be able to name the benefits and contraindications associated with each modality.

Spa Treatments – Facials/Face & Back, Hand & Foot Treatments                                                 1 Day Course

This course will provide the student with an understanding of spa history and various spa treatment techniques. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to demonstrate and explain the use of paraffin wax, hand, foot, back and facial treatments. The student will also be able to name the benefits and contraindications associated with each modality.

Spa Treatments – Body Wraps & Salt Glows                                                         1 Day Course

This course will provide the student with an understanding of spa history and various spa treatment techniques. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to demonstrate and explain the use of salt glows and body wraps. The student will also be able to name the benefits and contraindications associated with each modality.

Deep Tissue Massage                                  1 Day Course

In this class students learn to understand layers of the body and develop the ability to work with tissue in these layers to relax, lengthen, and release holding patterns in the most effective and energy efficient ways possible. This will allow the student to utilize their knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology with massage to take the student to a new level of massage.

Trigger Point Therapy                                1 Day Course

Students learn the history of Trigger Point Therapy and the part that it plays in providing an effective pain relief massage.  Students develop touch sensitivity to locate trigger points in addition to deducing the location from pain patterns.  Major trigger points of the body will be covered.

Sports & Remedial Massage 1                   1 Day Course

Application of Massage techniques to enhance athletic performance.  This class encompasses pre-event, post-event, during competition, training conditioning, and restoration – rehabilitation for chronic and acute problems.  Addressing injuries, thermo regulation, the physical, physiological, and psychological effects of massage for athletes are taught in this class.

Sports & Remedial Massage 2                   1 Day Course

This class addresses chronic problems that the student will encounter, not only in the athletic world, but in their regular practice as well.  More advanced techniques are taught such as deep facial work, neuromuscular therapy, and soft tissue manipulation.  Problem areas including the scalene, rotator cuff, quadratus lumborum, sciatic, and psoas are addresses.

LaPolar Stone Therapy                              5 Day Course

This course is designed for the massage therapist that wants more out of their massage. This is a five-day course that will teach you how to use cold marble stones with hot basalt stones in conjunction with massage techniques. Learn how to cool and heat the stones, how to control temperature for use on clients and proper care of your stones and equipment. Learning to use stones can help to eliminate undue stress on the therapist's body and aid the client. Certificate will be awarded upon completion of class.

LaPolar Stone Therapy for Deep Tissue Massage

Students that have already learned deep tissue massage and wish to further their therapy in a unique way, will love this course. The LaPolar therapy and the use of stones is incorporated into the deep tissue massage, using the stones instead of your hands. Students will learn the benefits of using stones with deep tissue. This creates an extremely effective therapy for the client and reduces occupational injury on the therapist.

 

 

 

Lapolar Stone Therapy for Trigger Point Therapy

Students that have already learned trigger point therapy and wish to take it to the next level will find this course of interest. The LaPolar therapy and the use of stones is incorporated into the trigger point therapy, using the stones instead of your hands. Self-care with Trigger Point Therapy        1 Day Course

This course will provide you with an understanding of how Trigger Point Therapy can be utilized effectively as a self-treatment therapy. The class will cover correct self-treatment techniques and also incorporate the use of tools. All massage therapists do massage for clients – this enables you to benefit from your knowledge. Its time to take care of yourself with this interesting and enjoyable course.

Neuromuscular Therapy 1                         2 Day Course

The concept of this course is to look for the cause of dysfunction and help relieve chronic & acute pain by working on major muscles in segments with specific, deeper technique to stimulate individual muscle fibers. The class will include how to eliminate spasm and hyper contraction in soft tissues, restore proper biomechanics, restore flexibility to soft tissue and rebuild strength of injured soft tissue all through integrative techniques. Students will learn to identify musculoskeletal dysfunction through viewing and hands-on palpation to help clients become pain-free.

Integrative Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique / Advanced Trigger point Therapy                                1 Day Course

The purpose of this course is to give you a basic knowledge and understanding of Integrative Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique [INIT]. INIT is a unique and complete way to release trigger points. The combination of methods that are used create a much more gentle way to work with Trigger Point Therapy but still achieve powerful results. This technique also helps prevent injury to your thumbs, fingers and hands.

Integrative Massage Therapy for Tendons & Ligaments                    

                                                                     1 Day Course

This therapy is a new and innovative approach. There is not much information available on the structural and functional events that are vital in tendon and ligament recovery. There is a distinct difference between muscle tissue and tendon and ligament tissue. Therefore, the techniques used in treatment after injury to these areas should vary as well. This class will teach you the physical shifts and methods to promote change and healing. The role of manual therapy in the traditional healthcare system is still very limited. This therapy model for treating these injuries consists of very precise use of fiber direction technique. This approach to serious and chronic tendon and ligament injuries is a complete adjunct to any soft tissue manual therapist.

Specific Injury Treatment Approaches      2 Day Course

Cranial Sacral 1,  3 Day Course (which includes one four hour day)

Craniosacral Therapy is known as a gentle and profound method of healing available to the massage therapist.  The student will develop an appreciation for the history and development of the technique, become familiar with the anatomy and physiology of the craniosacral system and understand basic palpation skills.  Upon successful completion of the coursework, the student should be able to demonstrate palpation techniques and explain the anatomy and physiology of the craniosacral system.

Cranial Sacral 2

Cranial Sacral 2 is your next step in this area. It will allow the student to advance the learning in Cranial Sacral 1 and incorporate new instruction given. This will address Reciprocal Tension, Nature of palpation and Rhythmic Impulse Physiology. Practice a mini protocol for the hard palate and facial bones that includes zygomas, maxilla and vomer flexion/extension, torsion, shear and disimpaction, palatines, nasal bones and TMJ decompression. Reexamine and practice whole-body evaluation techniques: arcing, facilitated segments, craniosacral rhythm and fascial glide. Practice regional tissue release and use of significance detector. Ask questions to clarify and reinforce understanding of CranioSacral Therapy and its application.

 

 

 

Cranial Sacral 3

Cranial Sacral 3 will address Stress storage in the Membrane System, Unwinding and Cranial Adjusting with advancement in your therapy sessions. Discover how to integrate Sutherland's technique for identifying lesions into the CranioSacral Therapy 10-Step Protocol. Enhance your ability to conduct whole-body evaluations focusing on the physiological phenomena that occur. Practice evaluating and treating cranial-based dysfunction's. Participate in multiple-hands sessions. Refine technique applications and further develop palpatory capabilities. Participate in an in-depth mind/body integration study using the craniosacral system as the core vehicle.

 

 

 

Positional Release – Neck and Spine               1 Day Course

This course will give you a basic knowledge and understanding of Positional Release Technique [PRT]. PRT offers a gentle way of treating tender points, hypertonicity and muscle congestion with very few contraindications. Most therapists find they are able to access and release the deep muscle tissues and increase range of motion without the use of deep tissue massage. Reiki 1                                                          1 Day Course

This course will cover the history of The Usui Reiki methods and how it works, principles and benefits of Reiki, preparing for session, hand positions for self, client and chair Reiki.  Students will learn the various levels of attunement, learn the Laws that govern and ethics surrounding use and practice of reiki and receive their first level attunement.

Reiki 2                                                          2 Day Course

In this course student’s will receive their second level of attunement, receive symbols and learn to do different treatments with Reiki.  They will also learn about Reiki drain and learn the Chakras.

Students will perform distance healing and understand and incorporate Chakra work into Reiki session. Understand and be able to mentally clear and offer clients programming techniques

Perform a full Reiki session.

Must have Reiki Level 1 Approved

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Level 1       

                                                                   1 Day Course

EFT is one of the biggest breakthroughs in the field of therapy. This technique is pushing the very boundaries of what we know about health and healing. It is an incredibly easy and fast acting technique that almost defies logics.

Emotional Freedom Technique relieves symptoms by tapping with the fingertips on a short series of points on the body that correspond to acupuncture points. These are the meridian points of the body.  Where there is an imbalance, there is a corresponding blockage in the flow of energy through the meridian system. The tapping serves to release the blockages that are created when a person thinks about or becomes involved in an emotionally disturbing circumstance.  When this blockage is released then the emotions come into balance.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Level 3 

                                                                      2 Day Course

OK, it's time to start working at an entirely different level! This is the 'art of delivery' of EFT. If you've been working with EFT for some time now, and gained a lot of experience 'in the trenches'. You're beginning to glimpse the real possibilities of EFT. This Approved Level 3 training course follows the guidelines for AAMET (Advanced Association of Meridian Energy Therapy) Advanced Practitioner status. Initial training is backed up by ongoing supervision and post-course work. We may be getting very serious about our EFT but we ensure the courses are still a lot of fun! We have a highly experienced therapist and trainer, and she has delivered courses to audiences in the Ireland, UK and America.
